If you haven’t already completed your membership form, please schedule a time with Kim Simon, Monica Sandoval, Maribel EstradaSilva or Arden Watson to get yours in. Please be sure to do so off-hours, on lunch or on a break.
While the final steps for organizing are taking place, we need to begin working on the structure and bylaws for our union. To do so, we are looking for volunteers or nominations from each of 7 categories of our members. You can find out which category you are in here. If you are interested in volunteering or nominating someone else, use the form here on the site to let us know.
When we schedule our next meeting in January, we will choose the representatives and begin the work.
Thursday, December 12th at the transportation center, we welcomed Arden Watson from Pilchuck Uniserve, who provided updates on our unionization efforts.
The district has been notified that we are forming a union. They are not challenging the plans. Some discussions are taking place around certain positions and whether or not the district and/or PERC believe they should be included in the union, but this was expected and planned for. More information will be provided once those discussions have been wrapped up.
The good news is, we are definitely on our way!
